(Port) Wine of the month November 2021: NIEPOORT GARRAFEIRA 1931

After the introduction of the 1987 Garrafeira as the latest edition of this fantastic Port category, which is nowadays only bottled by Quevedo and Niepoort, one must crown the Garrafeira grandfather for what it is: probably the best Garrafeira ever made, combining the best of the Vintage Port- and the Colheita-world: Bright red colour. Fresh and complex nose with minty notes and chocolate, fresh tobacco. Intense but balanced palate with an amazing freshness. Floral notes, tobaccos and perfectly supporting acidity. Long aftertaste. 19/20
